Everyone can support the fight against heart disease in women by wearing red. It's a simple, powerful way to raise awareness of heart disease and stroke.

Join with thousands of women, companies and organizations and cities across America on National Wear Red Day, Friday, February 1, 2008. By wearing red and making a donation, you'll help the American Heart Association support ongoing research and education about women and heart disease. As always, another way to join the celebration is to Shop Go Red by selecting Go Red apparel, accessories and more, available from our sponsors!

Participate in National Wear Red Day

What To Wear
National Wear Red Day has its own dress code. Wear your favorite red clothes or accessory - a red blouse, a red dress pin, a fabulous red handbag - put on red lipstick, or sport a red tie and red socks. Go red in your own fashion to show your support for women and the fight against heart disease.

Why You Should Wear Red!
Too few people realize that heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women (and men), but the good news is heart disease can often be prevented. Spreading the Go Red For Women message “Love Your Heart” raises awareness of heart disease and empowers women to reduce their risk.

Wear Red To Work
Companies can offer an additional incentive for employees to participate by allowing them to wear red and jeans to work on Wear Red Day in exchange for a $5 donation to the American Heart Association. Participants also can wear a red dress sticker - the symbol for women's heart health (available on this Web site) — to show the world that they "take heart" in women's health.

Plan A Wear Red Day at Your Workplace
Any company, organization, group or establishment can participate in Wear Red Day activities. People can simply wear red on Wear Red Day, or leaders can take involvement to a higher level by engaging employees in this life-saving movement. Having key leaders participate sends a clear signal to staff that your organization supports Go Red For Women in its fight against heart disease in women. Join others across the nation as they Wear Red and pledge to build awareness of and take action against women's No. 1 killer — heart disease.

Go Red For Women offers a program toolkit that provides employees, members and associates all the information they need to educate themselves and their loved ones about heart disease, and gives them tools on how to take action and live a healthy lifestyle.
